2019 Shpageeza Cricket League Squads

Here are the fixtures for the sixth season of Shpageeza Cricket League that will be held from 7th to 18th October in Kabul. With the 2nd edition of Afghanistan Premier League (APLT20) scheduled in Oct 2019, performances in Shpageeza will be vital for players to get into the franchise squads of APLT20 and also impress the national selectors ahead of their home series against West Indies in India.

Bost Defenders, the 2018 edition champions, also took part in the inaugural edition of Abu Dhabi T20 in Oct 2018. The previous editions have seen overseas players from Zimbabwe, South Africa and Pakistan take part in the tournament, along with overseas coaches for the franchise team’s as well.

The players draft for the sixth season of Shpageeza Cricket League (SCL) was held at ACB headquarters in Kabul on 03rd Aug 2019. The players were chosed from the draft by the six franchise team’s, Mis-E Ainak Knights, Kabul Eagles, Bost Defenders, Band-E Amir Dragons, Speenghar Tigers & Amo Sharks. The sixth season of the SCL is scheduled to be held in late August at Kabul International Cricket Stadium.

Players were chosen from five categories of Diamond, Platinum, Gold, Silver & Emerging. That was before all the six franchises retained their marquee players from the previos editions. Band-E Amir Dragons (Rashid Khan), Mis-E Ainak (Mohammad Nabi), Bost Defenders (Gulbadin Naib), Speenghar Tigers (Shafiqullah Shafaq), Kabul Eagles (Asghar Afghan) and Amo Sharks (Mirwais Ashraf) were the retained players.
